I believe that anyone can make a difference in their community. No matter how small something may seem, any act of kindness can be significant. For me, that means actively choosing to ignore gossip. Spreading hurtful rumors for the sake of personal enjoyment is a toxic act. I understand that we can never really know one’s true circumstances or feelings, and that’s why I don’t partake in this. I am incredibly grateful and honored to have received the Erica Gwen Scholarship, and I hope that I can continue to follow in her footsteps by inspiring others to do the right thing.
